Thulium fiber laser (TFL) uses long, thin and thulium-doped silica fiber as the active laser medium and multiple diode lasers for pumping energy. Wavelength of EMS Laserclast Thulium power is 1940 nm with a shallow penetration due to higher absorption in water. Total power of 60W enables it to be used for stone as well as soft tissue applications including BPH, while generating small amounts of heat. There are two operating modes- the continuous and pulsed mode. Pulsed mode can be used with different energy, frequency and pulse length. If offers notable reduction in retropulsion and improved dusting with higher pulse frequency compared with the Holmium YAG laser.
