Ureteral Stents

A stent is a flexible, small hollow tube that is placed into the ureter. The main purpose of a stent is to hold the ureter open and maintain drainage of urine. These tubes when inserted into the ureter, allow urine to flow from the kidney to the bladder, in cases of blockage to the normal flow. The ureteral stents are commonly used for the treatment of kidney stones.
