Tissue Harmonic Imaging Technique
Harmonic imaging uses the resonance characteristics of tissue. In this method, higher-frequency harmonic waves are produced to generate images that contain fewer artifacts than those seen on conventional ultrasound tissue imaging.
Harmonic imaging provides images of better quality as compared with conventional ultrasound technique. Thus, it facilitates visualization of the vascularity of the anal canal and surrounding structures, as well as the integrity and position of tapes and meshes, pre and post-operatively.
